Glowbee: Luminous Revival

Lightbulb Packaging

A set of lightbulb packaging for Glowbee’s vintage lightbulbs & 3D mockup renders.

Design a set of lightbulb packaging designs for a specific lightbulb based on their niche & associated theme.

Apply design onto a 3D mockup & render the object in a realistic setting.

Objective

Our class is tasked to create a set of lightbulb packaging designs for a lightbulb company named Glowbee. This project is to design a set of lightbulb packaging designs according to a niche of our choice. I was then tasked to research information about the lightbulbs and how their application in the real world.

I then was tasked to design 3 lightbulb packaging for the different wattages the lightbulb can be produced.

Project

Concept

The type of lightbulbs I chose was vintage incandescent lightbulbs. The niche for the lightbulbs are used for dimly lit cafe and restaurants with the 1800s aesthetic.

The name of these set of lightbulbs is Luminous Revival. The name is to represent the use of these lightbulb have changed from being a standard for lighting to a decorative lighting product.

Deliverables

For the packaging design for these vintage lightbulbs, I decided to name the different wattages, Study Room, Cafe, and Theatre. The names chosen was referring to different locations associated with the 1800s and the difference in the size of the location.

The packaging is designed based off the location’s indoor aesthetic such as the use of wallpaper and large trims on walls, and curtains.

Packaging Design

The colors I used are for contrast to easily distinguish between the different wattage and match the names they are given.

Packages are rendered onto an image to visualize them in a contextual setting based on their theme and retail setting as a real world product.

3D Renders

These are the in-progress work before the final designs of the project. During this phase, we were instructed to explore and practice our creative process.
